| Thursday, 13 October 2011 15:59 | During a survey on an offshore windfarm site, Jean and Samuel from G-tec witnessed a whale jumping in the vicinity of the boat. The animal was filmed in the vicinity of the Thornton sandbank at 25km off the coast. It is a young humpback. Apparently it is the first time a humpack whale was observed along the Belgium coast. This spectacle can be seen on http://www.deredactie.be. The whale became already a national celebrity : | | Thursday, 13 October 2011 15:48 | As part of the joint venture "Schiffwracks Elbe" (G-tec & Melchior+Wittpohl), G-tec is executing a geophysical survey on the Elbe River between Cuxhaven and Hamburg, Germany. The purpose of the survey is to detect and map 31 shipwrecks along the 120 km long access channel, and propose a methodology to remove the wrecks prior to starting the dredging works in the channel. This analysis will be based on the results of Side Scan Sonar, multibeam, reflection seismic, parametric sediment echosounder and magnetometer data.

| | Friday, 07 October 2011 13:03 | G-tec finished a geophysical survey in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. In the frame of the development of what will become one of the world's largest liquid natural gas (LNG) ports, G-tec performed an object detection survey in the dredging areas, deploying Side Scan Sonar, Magnetometer and Sub-Bottom Profiler. The results of this survey will enable the dredging contractors (Joint Venture of Van Oord and Dredging International Australia) to reduce downtime caused by unexpected large objects.

| | Thursday, 09 June 2011 13:54 | G-tec’s fleet goes on growing with the new arrival of the Faraday, a marine survey Vessel. This 12.15 meters long catamaran will mainly operate along the French Atlantic Coast, the English Channel and in the North Sea. The vessel is certified MCA category II (thus can work up to 60 nautical Miles offshore) and is equiped with safety means for up to 14 persons, 2 crewmembers included.
She is equipped for a large panel of activities in both the coastal and the offshore area:
- Geophysical and hydrographical studies
- Environmental survey
- Coastal and ports development
- Marine renewable energy and dredging projects
- Crew change

| | Thursday, 09 June 2011 13:39 | G-tec has just launched a new-build boat, the D-tect. The newly acquired boat, which is 6.58 meters long, has been designed to suit the requirements of hydrographic survey in shallow waters (waterways) and is customized to accommodate hydrographic equipment. The boat has a capacity of 3 people (without skipper). She will support activities such as: - Site inspections
- Geophysical surveys :
- Bathymetry : Multibeam & Singlebeam echo sounder
- High resolution seismic reflection & seismic refraction
- Underwater Imaging: Side Scan Sonar, video, 3D acoustic camera, static imaging sonar, sector scanner
- Magnetometry
- Sediment sampling
