“G‐tec has been contracted by ABB to undertake a nearshore and onshore UXO detection survey. The magnetometer survey has been performed on the nearshore part of the Rentel Offshore Windfarm Cable Route and onshore, and on the landing point of the cable in Zeebrugge.

Both magnetometer surveys, with vertical gradiometer for the onshore landing route, and the MagWing multisensor magnetometer array for the nearshore survey, included an innovative way of filtering background noise induced by human activities.

The Rentel windfarm will consist of 42 Wind Turbines of 7,35 MW and will produce nearly 309 MW at peak, supplying CO2 friendly electricity to approximately 285.000 households. The turbines are connected to the offshore transformer station. The substation is connected by a 220kV submarine cable to the onshore substation of Stevin in Zeebrugge.“
