G-tec drill ship Omalius has successfully completed its mobilization in Antwerp and has sailed to Ørsted’s planned Hornsea Four Offshore Windfarm project site.

Geotechnical Investigations
G-tec was awarded this Ørsted Geotechnical Investigation Project, offshore east coast UK.

 The geotechnical investigations include deep soil and high-quality rock sampling, with a main focus on high quality chalk sampling and offshore and onshore laboratory testing.

All deep and shallow investigations will be carried out from the G-tec DP2 geotechnical drill ship Omalius.

Covid 19 context

Despite the challenging Covid 19 circumstances, the mobilization was successfully and safely finalized as planned. The main priority were the health and safety of client’s team, marine crew and project crew.
